Security screen doors are built for strength. In Australia, for a door to be officially labelled a security screen, it must pass a series of rigorous tests under AS5039-2008, including:
- Knife Shear Test – resists slashing attacks
- Impact Test – withstands heavy force
- Pull Test – resists strong pulling force
- Anti-Jimmy Test – resists prying and levering
- Probe Test – prevents hand or tool insertion
- Fire Attenuation Test – slows the spread of flames
Only doors that pass all of these tests are certified as security screen doors in Australia.
